If there is one thing I love, truly love, it is a good idea. To me ideas are what keeps the flow flowing and that glow glowing. Without ideas, I feel lost and forever on the hunt. Luckily for me I am an “ideas man”. Always a dreamer, a never ending schemer and forever bubbling with new ideas that give meaning to my life and hopefully to others.
There is one thing I love more than ideas. People who can articulate their ideas in such a way that not only can you understand their point of view but you can physically feel as if they have inserted the idea into your heart and mind. A whole group of those people have emerged and merged, TED ideas worth sharing (are they ever!!)

TED stands for technology, entertainment, design. Now an annual conference TED brings together the great thinkers, leaders and presenters of the world to share their ideas. The TED mission “We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. “
A few weeks ago I was reading the FEW newsletter and spotted a piece on TEDxTokyo. Excited, I clicked on the link and was gobsmacked to discover that an independently organized event was to be held here in Tokyo. TEDxTokyo were asking for submissions of profiles to select 200 Japanese and foreign thought leaders together to share ideas they are passionate about.
You cannot imagine the heart stopping moment when I recieved a very sweet email letting me know that I was selected as one of those 200 thought leaders. All that dreaming and idea sprouting paid off! Dreams come true.
So in two more sleeps I am planning to wake up nice and early (starts at 8am), rub the glitter from my eyes and head to Miraikan—Japan’s National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.
The day is organized around four themes:
Session 1 How can we organize ourselves to make a difference?
Session 2 What does it mean to be a learner today?
Session 3 How do we use finite resources to propel ourselves in the future?
Session 4 How does today decide tomorrow, from local & global perspectives.
I am looking forward to sitting wide eyed, with heart beating wildly as I soak up the IDEAS!
For this opportunity I am incredibly grateful!
Some ideas…
This makes me laugh hysterically and cry huge tears at the same time. Thank you Sir Robinson. WORD!
