This is a snippet of a HOOPLOVERS newsletter I sent out today! I thought you might like it.
“If you want to change your life. Change the questions you ask yourself each day!”
Tony Robbins
I want to share with you one of the most powerful and yet simple questions that was offered to me in 2008. My mentor and friend Bunny Hoop Star posed a very simple question, “What is your intention?” This question became a powerful starting point for most of my adventures last year. I soon realized that having clear intention was the beginning of manifesting my dreams. Clear intentions allowed me to take better control of my journey and gave me a focus for taking action.
As we are bombarded at this time of year with talk of resolutions I would like you to think about your intentions for today, this week, this month, this year…NOW. Intentions evolve and that is OK.
Here are a few tips that might help you create clear intentions.
1. Think about what it is that you really want/need and write it down.
I am quite specific when it comes to my goals. I then back them up with my intentions. For example, in 2008 I wrote Become a qualified Hoop Dance teacher by April, 2008. I then had to look at how I intended to do this. My intentions were the small steps that got me to achieve my goal.
2. Take positive action! Do one thing today that will lead you in the direction of your intended outcome. Be committed to yourself and your intentions!
3. Track your success. Check off your missions when accomplished. Acknowledge your achievements. It is fun to look back over what you have worked so hard on. Celebrate!
