I’m Spinning Around Move Outta My Way

world hoop day club

Tonight’s HOOP GLOW class is all about flow and awareness, two themes that have been hovering strongly in my head and my heart since taking the spin into the world of full time hoopage. I am truly looking forward to tonight, 6-8pm at CLASKA, a strong line up of hoopers new and open.

New Tokyo-based hooper Amanda has become so naturally a part of the spiral that she has taken to blogging about it in her new blog called (wait for it) My Hooping Journey (how freakin fab). The ideal way to record progress, of which she is going to see so much so very quickly. Her enthusiasm and natural connection with the hoops reminds me a lot of my initial launch into the spin.

Bunny has started to share her story of the desert dreaming journey. She is the queen of words and reading part 1 of her adventure has me screaming for more, I am clicking on over to her blog far to often in anticipation of part 2. The photos, taken by Talen, of Earthdream 2008 are up too, adding extra light and sparkle to Bunny’s tales. Read, love it, live it! Not long until I get to share tales with Bunny in real life, not just via gmail chat! Counting down…

What does Shu Uemura, Tokyo Midtown and HOOPLOVERS have in common? Well, aside from fabulous amounts of swirling international style…you are just going to have to keep on guessing. Let’s just say there is some VERY big and exciting hoopy stuff going on here in Tokyo very soon! EEeeeeekkkkk

I am primping and preping for tomorrow night’s Biz NITE performance. My inspiration? The Amazing Marawa. I had seen her greatness before but was reminded by Fashion Hayley recently about how truly amazing Marawa is!

While I will not be doing any trapeze acts at Tableaux tomorrow night, I think a good hard swing on a freakin high rope to a full piece band playing Light My Fire may just cure my fear of heights. What do you think? Off to practice doing the splits!
