I arrived in Tokyo on January 13, 2004. Since that time I have been to many beaches in Australia, a few Spanish beaches and beaches all over Greece and it’s gorgeous islands but I have never frolicked on beaches in Japan. I had heard about them, so knew they existed, friends invited me to them but until yesterday I had only seen a fake one in Odaiba and a black one in Enoshima.
We loaded up the car, I mean really loaded. You would think we were going for weeks not hours. We headed off early to beat the traffic, which kind of worked it was a good idea at least.
After a long drive surrounded by great music and hilarious chit chat Masao, Oshima, Petros and I set foot on sand. Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
We did all the things any international awesome foursome would do at the beach…

(I love these photos because you can see how quickly everyone packed up and left! As soon as the life savers made the announcement everyone was gone in a flash, except for the two stoned guys behind us who fell asleep in their arm chairs.)
On the way home we stopped into some farmer’s markets and a hidden place called Raver’s Cafe. Which looked like something directly out of a Tarantino movie but I preferred to think of it as Japan’s answer to Cafe Del Mar.
Wish we could go to the beach everyday!

This looks ab fab! So glad you were able to take a mini holiday! Can’t think of anyone who deserves it more! Happy Hooping!! How many more sleeps till the big US Hoopla??
